Laura M M Johnson:
Owner of NUTS, ltd.

I started acting in my pre-teen/big, bad bangs era.  Voice-over has been part of my life even longer!  I cut my first radio commercial in 4th grade, spent my high school years working part time as a disc-jockey at Q102 FM in Willmar, and I managed my college radio station, WBCS.  Prior to owning NUTS, I made my living as a successful commercial and industrial spokesperson, live event host, voice-over artist, and stage actress (Hey City Theater, Shakespeare in the Park, Blue Collar Theater, and others).  I continue to keep my live event skills razor sharp by working as an in-game host/public address announcer for the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Wild.

Otherwise…let’s see. I am a BIG TIME culinary enthusiast. I’ve worked as a culinary assistant and instructor at the Kitchen Window Cooking School in Uptown, Minneapolis. I’ve hosted informal cooking events, catered events for friends, and have been hired to teach craft cocktail classes at private parties.  I am a voracious reader and a lover of learning. Cookbooks, blogs, magazines, fiction, non-fiction, medical journals, manuals—you name it, I’ll read it.

I am fascinated by social media (Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, LinkedIn, etc.) and how it works to connect people/ideas/interests. I’m excited to share who we are and what we’re all about via our media outlets.

As an agent, I believe it is crucial to know my actors. NUTS’ reputation depends on knowing our talent! I take in as much live theatre in the Twin Cities as my schedule will allow. This not only serves as “continuing education” for me, my staff and the business, but shows continual support and encouragement for the talent I represent.

Reid Harmsen:
NUTS Agent

I am thrilled to be part of the amazing team at NUTS! I have been a huge fan and ardent supporter of our incredible local theater scene my entire life. Many of my teenage years were spent training and performing at The Children’s Theatre Company, and I went on to study Musical Theatre in college. As an Equity Actor, I performed with Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Theater Latté Da, Cardinal Theatricals, Illusion Theater, Troupe America, Park Square Theater, and I performed in Joseph…Dreamcoat in Tokyo, Japan with Broadway Asia.

After a brief stint with Jim Carnahan Casting in New York City, I found myself missing the wonderful city of Minneapolis. (Go, Twins!)

For four years I worked as the Casting Director at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, casting all of their mainstage shows, cabaret series, and special events. During my time at the Ordway, I developed a strong passion for supporting and helping provide work for this wonderful community. I attend every show in town – sometimes twice!

On top of the entertainment industry, I enjoy spending time with family and friends – especially my seven nieces and nephews. I’m a big fan of popcorn and game nights – which are best when paired together!
